One of the most important things you can do to keep your palm tree healthy is to make sure it's well watered. The soil in the pot should be wet, but not wet. To determine if your plant needs water, use your hands to squeeze the potting soil. If it feels dry, it's time to water the plant. If you water your palm tree during the day, you can cause the leaves to fall off.
This is a normal reaction, and the leaves will rise again when the soil is wet. However, if the leaves remain fallen for an extended period of time, it may be a sign that you are overwatering your plant. If you grow your palm tree in an outdoor pot, water the plant when the top of the soil feels dry.
Be sure to water it regularly during the summer, when there is plenty of sunshine and little rain. Watering the plant should be done at least once a week. However, if it doesn't rain enough, you can water it twice a week.
